Redbucks - Huntland, TN

Yesterday, we headed off to Huntland, Tennessee.  I've passed Redbucks hundreds of times but have never stopped.  I was told I "had" to get their "hoop cheese"!  The drive there is beautiful.  It is two lane roads with creeks for most of the way.  You also pass the Paint Rock River in multiple places.  There are places for stopping along the way.  Lots of gorgeous countryside unlike any place else.

Back to Redbucks... We drove all the way there and guess what?  They were closed.  Just my luck! That only means I get another trip out there to sight see again!

And this is what all the hype is about.  It doesn't look like much but story has it, that it is some mighty fine eatin!

Here are a couple of other pics I snapped along the way.  Nothing grand but still a memory!

Russell Cave

Below are some pics from our Russell Cave trip.  We made this trek in January 2015.  It was a brisk day but the first day where the weather was semi-decent.  We enjoyed a quick 30 minute drive to the cave.  We explored the main office and the artifacts they had on display.  Then we took the hike to the cave's mouth.  It was a nice easy walk.  There is also a longer hiking trail available but we were short on time and supplies.  We opted for the cave only, this time.

It's a little blurry but this is as far as you can get.

This is beside the cave entrance.  There is a beautiful creek with blue water constantly flowing.  The sound of the creek is incredibly soothing!

Another angle looking into the cave where the creek runs.

This is a very huge sink hole!  Jackson County, AL is full of them!

Bucket List

Mission Statement

What does a year offer? New opportunities for new experiences. What are the two things most people don't have alot of? Time and money.

For 2015, I am making a bucket list of free and super cheap things to do close to home. Anyone can implement the same list anywhere with a teeny bit of imagination.

This little blog will be my own personal bucket list that I'm sharing with the world in hopes that other families find a way to reconnect outside the computers, fast food, closed doors. My goal is for every week, yes all 52, I will use my newly created list and begin marking things off. So at a minimum, by January 1st, I must have 52 experiences that are either free or super cheap to begin experiencing. Some weeks, I will be able to do a couple at a time. But every week, must have one thing done! I will take pictures to document my experiences.

Ar the end of my 52 weeks, I will print out my pics and make a new album to be able to relive my fun, cheap and exciting year! Maybe for 2016, I can up the stakes and venture further out for some bigger adventures. Let the imagination creation begin!
